Bio

Dae Newman is the department assistant for the Department of African American Studies. In this role, they assist with the day-to-day running of the department while serving as the primary contact person for faculty, students and members of the community.

Newman is also a member of Equality VCU and the College of Humanities and Sciences Classified and Academic Professionals Staff (CAPS) Council. They are currently serving as CAPS Council president.
