EVENT: Bol Gai Deng: Legacy of an African Freedom Fighter (Talk and Book Signing)

On Friday, October 26, the Department of African American Studies presents a talk and book signing by Bol Gai Deng.

Bol Gai Deng arrived in the US as a Sudanese refugee in 1999. He is now a VCU alumnus with a degree in  Homeland Security and Political Science. But he has not forgotten his heritage or community. He is a passionate advocate for African refugees and is currently running for president of South Sudan. He will be discussing his story and his book Bol Gai Deng: Legacy of an African Freedom Fighter, which he wrote with Andrea McDaniel.

Attendance is free and open to the public, and books will be for sale at the event.
