Chioke A. I'Anson, PhD
Director of Community Media, Institute for Contemporary Art
For more than eight years, Chioke I'Anson, PhD taught in the Department of African American Studies, endeavoring to help students understand Africana thinking while also growing the department. Previously, at Spelman College, he taught African Diaspora in the World. Before that, he taught courses in philosophy that focused on major black thinkers like William R Jones and Frederick Douglass. I'Anson understands Africana Studies as a transdisciplinary pathway to good thinking, just as potent as philosophy for helping develop critical thinking skills, but focused on a history that should be widely known by everyone.
