Douglas Kimemia, PhD

Assistant Professor

Douglas Kimemia, PhD. teaches AFAM 356: African Government and Politics, which is cross-listed as International Studies and African American Studies. This class attracts a lot of students from AFAM department, which helps them to understand more about Africa. Dr. Kimemia often has students who are interested in working in the Foreign Service department and with nongovernmental organizations, as well as students who want to pursue career paths in other fields.

Dr. Kimemia also wishes to invite AFAM students to participate in the East African study abroad program that provides an opportunity to visit five African countries, i.e. Kenya, Ethiopia, Uganda, Tanzania, and Rwanda. The study is conducted during summer for one month, where students interact with local cultures.
